2021 GMiS Luminary Honorees

 
 

Frances Gonzalez has been a pillar for technical excellence and has served as a role model for Hispanics in STEM throughout his 7+ year career in the aerospace and defense industry.

Currently serving as a Senior Project Engineer on the CH-53K Heavy Lift Replacement Helicopter Program, Mr. Gonzalez leads multiple tiger teams tasked with closing technical issues in support of major program milestones such as initial operational test and evaluation and full operational capability.  

He also coordinates technical interface meetings with the customer, supports flight test and design validation efforts and helps with part delivery for the build of production aircraft.

Born in the South Bronx, Mr. Gonzalez graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is currently pursuing his MBA from Pennsylvania State University online.

With a passion for diversity and inclusion, Mr. Gonzalez currently serves as the co-site lead for the Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Awareness business resource group at his work site and helps organize career development and community outreach events for the Hispanic community and its allies.

He also has mentored countless men and woman of color, including those through a program he founded and led at the local Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Bridgeport, CT.
