It would be difficult to find a soldier or civilian with more dedication to STEM mentoring than Sergeant First Class James D. Webb.
As a U.S. Army Sergeant, his duties have included Cannon Crewmember, Artilleryman, MEDEVAC Operations NCO, as well as his current position on the Division EO team.
It is his volunteer work as a NOVA, STEM, and Super NOVA counselor for the Boy Scouts of America, however, for which Sergeant Webb is singularly acknowledged. With loyalty, dedication, and selfless service, he has counseled and mentored youth from underserved communities through the Scouts to earn over 61 NOVA awards, multiple Super Nova awards, and 11 school science fair awards.
Sergeant Webb even took his mentoring sessions to virtual environments, creating videos with his son to provide a cost-effective STEM event that families could participate in during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Associates and B.S. degrees in Criminal Justice with emphases on Terrorism and Homeland Security and an MBA/Project Management Degree from Liberty University, Sergeant Webb is also a youth leader who coaches Soccer and Baseball in addition to all of his work with Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
