As Supplier Quality Manager for Cummins, Inc., Jesus Escobar works hard to ensure that defect-free processes in plants across the company’s manufacturing operations meet or exceed customer needs.

A member of the company’s Supplier Quality Organization over 10 years, Mr. Escobar, known to his friends and co-workers as “Chuy,” is renowned for his ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers as well as his innate ability to solve challenging manufacturing problems with a relentless drive.

This Supplier Quality Subject Matter Expert began his life in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, and learned English in ESL classes after his family moved to Presidio Texas, to pursue the American Dream before he started high school.

With no language barrier in STEM subjects, Mr. Escobar excelled in Science and Math and was soon advancing to the University of Texas at El Paso on a scholarship from the College Assistance Migrant Program to earn his B.S. in Industrial Engineering.

He continued his studies at New Mexico State University where he earned his Master’s in the same subject before joining the Cummins team.

Mr. Escobar later earned an MBA at the Kelley School of Busines at Indiana University / Purdue University Indianapolis and has been extremely active in the Latino Employee Resource Group at Cummins.
