As General Motors moves from manufacturing petroleum-fueled vehicles to an electric-powered future, Sigal Cordeiro, the Executive Director for Portfolio Planning is responsible for formulating, defining and implementing GM’s future product strategy in North America across three GM brands as well as maintaining an emphasis on electrification & sustainability trends.

Ms. Cordeiro joined General Motors in Detroit as part of their Marketing Leadership Program, and has held several global marketing, market research and general management roles throughout her two-decade career.

As the Executive Product Marketing Director for Emerging Markets she led the content and pricing development of the Chevrolet Onix and Chevrolet Tracker for China, Mexico and South America, with both vehicles reaching the top position in their segments in Brazil.

As Vice-President of Urban Mobility, she led Maven, GM’s car sharing business, where Ms. Cordeiro was responsible for developing industry-first car sharing technologies which bring new transportation concepts to market.

With a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Fundacao Getulio Vargas in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she grew up, she moved to the U.S. to get her MBA from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Cordeiro also provides strategic guidance and support to GM’s Latino community as Chair of the Leadership Advisory Board for the company’s Latino Network employee resource group.
