2022 GMiS Luminary Honorees
Born and raised in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, young Alexandra Cintrón discovered her passion for math and science while attending an English-speaking military academy during her grade school years. This passion took her first to the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez, and then to Raytheon Technologies when she was selected for a summer internship after her junior year.
Today Ms. Cintrón is the associate director of integrated digital intelligence & automation systems at the company she interned at all those years ago. Her vast range of responsibilities include supporting strategic business planning, technology development and deployment, organizational development, and corporate initiatives like improving competitive advantage and reducing overall product costs.
To these ends, she leads an organization of over 40 employees – a number that’s expected to grow 30-40% in the coming years. Her team is directly responsible for over $160 million in return on investment to the division’s bottom line, an aggressive target she must achieve exclusively through the development and innovative implementation of next generation smart manufacturing processes and technologies.
The criticality of Ms. Cintrón’s work cannot be overstated. She’s responsible for digital and robotic systems at six major factories across four states that together serve as the foundation for Raytheon Technologies’ manufacturing lines. She’s also tasked with integrating some of the world’s most advanced defense and intelligence systems.
Ms. Cintrón holds seven patents, two trade secrets and numerous innovation awards. She has received over 55 technical and achievement recognitions within Raytheon Technologies alone. GMiS recognized Ms. Cintrón’s talent in 2014 when she received the HENAAC Award for Most Promising Engineer.
