Daniela Gil demonstrates a depth of technical expertise that is well beyond her years of experience. She’s combined this professional precociousness with a wide breadth of understanding that makes her a highly impactful engineer with a promising future.
As a key contributor to the digital transformation of engineering functions across Lockheed Martin, Daniela led the development of a new resource to enable the company’s engineering workforce to better find and integrate the process guidance they needed to transform the way they work. She leads a team of systems engineers and architects developing a solution that will serve over 50,000 engineers across all company business areas.
Using strategies such as use cases and user stories to develop requirements to maximize the effectiveness of this tool, Daniela brought together subject matter experts from across the company and reached consensus on a common solution. She has a tremendous ability to look beyond the solutions to immediate problems and anticipate both the knock-on effects and potential ways to address them before they become new problems. This included determining that particular architectures were critical to future proofing, tapping the expertise of subject matter experts, and incorporating AI in developing the design.
Daniela is also committed to the growth and development of her community. She gives back by volunteering her time with HOLA, Lockheed Martin’s Hispanic employee research group, and by mentoring. Her participation with the Society of Women Engineers, in particular, has been extremely impactful, and she’s helped inspire the next generation of women engineers with her story of perseverance and growth.
Daniela is a recognized Subject Matter Expert in Systems Engineering, Data Analytics, and Digital Transformation – skill sets that are highly valued at Lockheed Martin and critical to company success. She joined the Training and Logistics Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning group where she was rapidly promoted to the Data Analytics team lead after just two months. In this role, she continues to build bridges across Engineering, Program Management, Capture Management, Finance, Operations, and industry partners. These and other contributions have been crucial to forging the next generation of engineers and scientists at Lockheed Martin. An avid supporter of DEI, Daniela is actively involved with six different professional and educational organizations within her community, and she leads the Orlando HOLA chapter where she’s responsible for monthly activities for more than 400 members.
