Education:  Masters in Project Management, Georgetown University and Systems Engineering, University of Texas, El Paso; Bachelors in Philosophy and Government, University of Texas, El Paso

In just her first decade in the aerospace industry, Samantha Corriero has developed into a trusted project management and systems development expert.  A Systems Engineer in the Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers division of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, Samantha works to lift people up by shattering silos within the Tinker Air Force Base community. She achieves this by developing peer relationships to build effective teams that succeed in critical defense investment programs that support global security missions.

As a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Samantha has held multiple leadership positions and volunteers her time at numerous universities, conferences, and workshops.  She’s highly regarded as a positive community role model in the El Paso, Fort Worth, and Oklahoma City areas.

Passionate about mentoring, Samantha participates in multiple STEM outreach organizations that are reshaping underrepresented communities and motivating more young students to pursue science and engineering.  She is a past SHPE National STAR Award honoree for organizing two of the largest STEM events in disadvantaged local Fort Worth communities over consecutive years.

Since joining Boeing, Samantha has demonstrated a remarkable ability to take on challenging projects and deliver results. For example, she led the Program Protection Implementation initiative, a model-based systems engineering program for cyber, and the integration of security controls into multiple product teams for the B-52 Radar Modernization Program.  She also executed a verification system engineering process to satisfy requirements for the 737 Wedgetail Phase 5A Australia Program qualification test.

Samantha has exceptional people skills, something demonstrated in her collaborations with colleagues, her strong relationships with customers, and her service to her community through various organizations and initiatives. Her dedication to poverty intervention, as evidenced by her personal background and advocacy work, is truly inspiring. She overcame the challenges of growing up in a low-income background to be the first in her family to graduate from college. Through her academic journey, Samantha proved to be a tireless advocate for immigrants, farmworkers, and first-generation students.

As a young engineer, she organized the largest science nights in the country, showcasing her commitment to promoting STEM education. Her dedication to diversity and inclusion is evident in her role as Chair of Boeing's DEIA program for the Oklahoma City site, where she oversaw six employee resource groups and four external technical affiliations.

Beyond her workplace, Samantha has made significant contributions to the community at large. As a student, she was named Woman of the Year at the University of Texas and Graduating Senior of the Year by the El Paso Bar Association.

Despite her professional success, she remains humble and is quick to credit her empathy to her roots in El Paso, especially her educational formation within El Paso’s Catholic community and the all-girls Loretto Academy where she once taught.  She takes pride in her community roots and always seeks to apply her values to her work at Boeing and her leadership in the areas she has called home.
