Detroit, Michigan native SPC Dwight D. Monk‘s job as Battalion Executive Assistant for the Special Troops Battalion of the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade is multifaceted, but every role he undertakes involves using his demonstrable professionalism and impeccable character to further crucial communications to his superiors and to his fellow service members.
Responsible for ensuring that the Command Sergeant Major, the Battalion Commander and the Executive Officer in the Command Group are all fully informed, SPC Monk handles their administrative duties while also coordinating the Soldier Family Readiness Group that provides vital community information to the families of both deployed and non-deployed soldiers in the Fort Stewart, Georgia area.
SPC Monk also serves as the Total Army Sponsorship Program Coordinator for the Special Troops Battalion, assisting incoming and outgoing service members who need a sponsor to help them integrate into or smoothly clear the installation.
In addition to all these duties, he also serves as the primary driver for the command team. In all of his responsibilities, SPC Monk displays professionalism and an enthusiastic demeanor while establishing himself as a charismatic future leader. He is currently working towards obtaining his degree in Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Texas.
