Teresa Olympio is the Senior Director of Fabrication for the One Boeing Production System, a $5 billion organization. She leads the implementation of standards across domestic and international fabrication sites with a mandate to achieve $90 million in savings. She is also the site leader for the first and only Boeing site in the United Kingdom, a $25 million investment that serves as the cornerstone of Boeing’s efforts to overhaul its global supply chains. These massive responsibilities are the culmination of a 15-year career moving up the ranks at the iconic aircraft maker.

Born in Washington to Mexican immigrant parents working in the state’s orchards, Ms. Olympio spent much of her early childhood living with her grandparents in a remote village in Mexico. She returned to Washington for good in the first grade, and despite living in a small cabin her family shared with other orchard workers, she quickly learned English and excelled in her schoolwork.  She even raised pigs and took them to fairs to make extra money.

Determined from a young age to honor her parents’ sacrifices and become the first in her family to attend and graduate from college, Ms. Olympio has accumulated an impressive list of “firsts”while building her career at Boeing. She became the first female and first Latina to serve as a senior manager and direct field operations in Japan. She then became the first female and first Latina to rise to senior director in manufacturing. She is also a founding member of Boeing’s Racial Equity Task Force and remains its only Latina member to this day.
